Today’s Reflection:
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips Psalms 141:3 NKJV

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:29 NKJV

Heavenly Father, You have said that I am powerless to tame my tongue for the tongue is full of deadly poison. It is a fire: a world of iniquity. A small member of the body, yet the power of life or death is in it. One moment, my tongue can be praising You, our Creator. The next cutting down a fellow human being made in Your likeness. I know this should not be. Your Word says that if anyone does not stumble in word, they are perfect able to control their whole body. Guard my thoughts, Lord. Help me to take each one captive to You and Your Word, rejecting all that are contrary to Your Word and purpose for my life as they are what preceed my words. Set a guard over my mouth. Keep watch over the door of my lips. Tame my tongue. Teach me to speak words of life, not death: to speak truth in love. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
